Named 2015 BedandBreakfast.com Marketer of the Year!
How We Earned Our B&B Marketing Stripes
For 10 years, we owned and operated the Wolf Cove Inn in Poland, Maine. Over those 10 years, we grew the business from a sleepy little B&B on a lake into one of the top performing small lodging properties in the State of Maine (as evaluated by Dana Moos Hospitality Investment Brokerage.)
While running our Bed and Breakfast, we utilized all the techniques described above (and more) to grow the Inn revenue 8x and operating margin 100% over those 10 years. Using any and all of these techniques helped Roy earn the 2015 BedandBreakfast.com “Marketer of the Year” Award.
We were hands on owners. While we both did some of everything, Sue primarily handled the front of the house, housekeeping, and guest experience. Of particular note, Sue owned the elopement and intimate wedding products for the Inn and grew this into a 6-figure business. Roy primarily handled marketing, content development, food service (if you stayed with us, I probably made your breakfast!), business planning and analysis, and property and building management.
So, just like you, we were in the trenches. We earned our stripes the hard way!
8-Fold Revenue Growth
We owned and operated a bed and breakfast in Maine for 10 years, growing a sleepy little 11 room Inn into one of the most sought after and profitable properties in all of Maine. Our team grew the top-line revenue 8x over a 9 year operating period while doubling operating margin percentage,
